Edwin Muth, CMO, Business Development
Mr. Muth is performing Business Development and Operations for Link Wireless. Prior to this, he was Senior Director of the Radio Receiver business unit at Infineon Technologies where he led the satellite radio business acquired from LSI which itself had acquired Agere Systems. Under his leadership, which encompassed customer relations, sales, operations, and all the engineering efforts for Sirius Radio receiver chips as well as the original systems design and studio encoder projects, Mr. Muth introduced four generations of successful chipsets. The result led to successful deployment of the service, and significant reductions in the chipsets costs and power consumption with each generation.
Prior to his, he was VP of Engineering, SyChip Inc, a Lucent New Venture, later acquired by Murata. In this position, he led the team from a research focus into a successful product development capability, and successfully spun out the company from its Lucent parent. Mr. Muth was responsible for all engineering and fab operations activities of the company, as well as the first three product prototypes which were the basis on which subsequent products, and the eventual sale of the company, were built.
Prior to this, Mr. Muth held various engineering positions in AT&T Bell Labs as an Engineering Director, Technical Manager and an individual contributor in wireless and cordless telephone development. where low cost, high volume analog products were built in quantities of several million per year bringing mobility to users within their homes, and advanced digital products were introduced to the field and generated innovation patents in frequency hopping techniques. Mr. Muth also designed various satellite systems in Bell Labs for TV broadcast systems, and the first digital radio broadcast over satellite.
Mr. Muth holds a MSEE from PolyTechnic Institute of New York, now part of NYU.
Winston Lieu, Owner, Founder and CTO
Winston Lieu is a founder and CTO of Linkwireless with 24 years of RF design and product development team management experiences in wireless.
Prior to Linkwireless, Winston was the CTO of Mobicom Corporation for ten years where he focused on business and product development activities of handset products for major OEM customers. Under his leadership, Winston and his team successfully developed several award winning products including the Firefly® children phone and the world smallest GSM folding phone sold through the carrier and OEM distribution channels worldwide.
Prior to Mobicom, Winston was the technical manager and RF team leader for twelve years at AT&T Lucent where he helped develop multiple handsets as well as the ultra linear amplifier used in the Autoplex II base station transmitter for the digital wireless networks. Winston holds a MBA from Wharton, a MSEE from Southern Methodist University, and a BSEE from Old Dominion University.
